Polish house design startup wins ReaktorX accelerator program

A Polish startup that helps people get the house of their dreams by matching designers with homeowners has won an accelerator program.

Fasadio, which connects people who are in the process of building a house with potential designers, won the second edition of the ReaktorX accelerator – a pre-acceleration program for startups at the earliest stages of development that are hoping to disrupt the industry.

Over 100 startups applied for the second edition of the program last year and at the end of January, the top 11 teams presented their projects after ten weeks of intensive acceleration.

An international jury eventually chose the winner and founder of Fasadio, Magdalena Sobczyńska, was praised for the “freshness” of her idea.

“In Fasadio, I appreciate especially its freshness, market potential, current traction and the

simplicity of the idea,” sais judge Inga Kasak, managing director of the Black Swan Fund.

“And the fact that the founder is a woman, which is still not common in the startup environment – and what the Black Swan Fund supports – confirmed my choice.”

Fasadio emerged after Sobczyńska, an architect, noticed that she was getting more and more orders for house facade projects – a market dominated by expensive architects and cheap, but not necessarily professional, design majors.

With this in mind she created a service that connects house builders with designers who provide visualizations, estimate the cost of investment and suggest materials for the project.

During the demo night both the audience and the jury got to vote for their favorite presentations.

Nebula Network – a company developing a large scale cloud computing system which uses multichain technology – won this part of the event.

ReaktorWarsaw is a grassroots initiative helping startups, which was established in 2011.

The second edition of ReaktorX is over, but the team has already announced the next

edition coming up this Spring. Startups who want to apply can do so here.
