Barcelona’s web2wave raises €330K to help app developers bypass app store fees and regain control

Barcelona-based web2wave, a web-to-app monetization platform helping developers bypass app store fees and keep control of their audience, has raised €330,000 in seed funding to scale its infrastructure and product offering.

According to a company statement shared with 150Sec, the round was led by funders.vc with participation from other participants from the mobile industry.

Already profitable and seeing explosive growth, web2wave processed a projected €1.55 million in revenue in March 2025 and now powers over 6 million monthly users across categories like fitness, productivity, health, and learning.

“Developers are tired of losing revenue and data to platform middlemen,” said Igor Lyubimov, Founder and CEO of web2wave. “We’re building a new path — one that gives devs independence, better margins, and full control of their audience, without compromising on UX.”

Founded in 2024, web2wave is led by Lyubimov, a Y Combinator alumnus with deep experience in mobile apps, EdTech, and AI.

Under his leadership, the remote-first team has built a platform that helps developers unlock new monetization channels while delivering a seamless, native-quality user experience — without app store constraints.

“We backed web2wave because they’re tackling a real issue head-on. App store commissions are extortionate, and developers are done playing by Big Tech’s rules. web2wave offers a real alternative — and it works,” shared Paul Miasnikov, Partner at funders.vc.

Paving a new way for mobile growth

Web2wave provides a modern, browser-based alternative to Apple’s App Store and Google Play, where developers typically lose up to 30% of their revenue and face strict limits on user data and attribution. By combining mobile web onboarding with native app quality, the platform helps developers convert users earlier, reduce churn, and own the full growth funnel.

Key features include:

  • Direct payments via Stripe, PayPal, Paddle, or Checkout— reducing fees from 30% to under 3%
  • User-level attribution and full analytics, bypassing IDFA and privacy sandbox limitations
  • AI-powered onboarding flows, including quizzes, expert reviews, paywalls, and personalized journeys
  • Instant pricing tests and offer experiments — no app store approvals needed
  • Out-of-the-box integrations with Amplitude, PostHog, Google Analytics, Meta Ads, and TikTok Ads

Momentum amid a shifting mobile ecosystem

The company’s growth comes as the EU’s Digital Markets Act (DMA) puts pressure on platform gatekeepers and signals a shift in how developers monetize.

Just last week, competitor Adapty raised $2.5 million for a similar vision, featured in TechCrunch.

But while many players are early in building, web2wave is already delivering — processing millions in revenue, maintaining profitability, and scaling across multiple verticals.

What’s next

With this new capital, web2wave plans to expand its product and engineering teams, enhance onboarding personalization capabilities, and grow its integrations ecosystem.

The company will also invest in community initiatives to support indie app creators and scale marketing across key markets in Europe and North America.
