Financial industry related early stage startups are invited to apply for the new program of Wise Guys that takes place next year in Latvia.
Wise Guys is an investment company founded in 2012 by private Estonian investors and a VC fund. Their core activity is to invest in early-stage technology companies.
To enhance the investment potential, Wise Guys run an accelerator called Startup Wise Guys. They are now the leading B2B startup accelerator in Europe and among the top 10 investors in early-stage startups in the Nordic region, accelerating more than 80 companies over 30 countries and completing 9 cohorts in Estonia and Latvia.
Their organized Fintech program has room for 10 startups.
In spite of Startup Wise Guys having the strongest footprint in Baltics, CEE and CIS, this program is not limited to this region. Applications are open to startup founders from any country
After selections are made, the program will start in March 2018 in Riga. Ten teams will be allowed entry at the Swedbank Latvia headquarters, in a modern, fully equipped co-working space with what the organization described as “probably the best view in town”.
Apart from 20.000 euro investment, the lucky ten will also enjoy a 3-month acceleration program topped up by a 3-month after-care and optional stay at the co-working.
Furthermore, partner Swedbank will be looking for potential pilots and startups to introduce to their APIs through its Open Banking initiative, as well as to the 7 million client base in 4 markets.
The Wise Guys Fintech program will be run by a team that has proven success raising millions for startups and that has relevant and broad-range experience during its 6 years of working in regular B2B accelerator programs.
To compliment them during the Fintech program, Startup Wise Guys also gathered a group of special fintech-focused mentors.
